The Company

In 1999 I started a software company along with a friend, Dean Brisson, where we developed tools for the management of data created by Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.  In 2003 we were acquired by Autodesk, Inc. Today our product is known as Autodesk Vault.  You can read a little bit about Autodesk Vault on the Wikipedia page for it or directly at Autodesk.com.

Additionally we had a few other small, free utilities that were created to help out the community.  One of them, truEUtilities was a huge success downloaded by thousands of companies in over 100 countries.  I wrote this in 1999 in order to help clean up the mess of files that Pro/ENGINEER would make when designing.  Save after save you would get another copy on your disk.  This clever little guy would rip through the files and leave you with only the latest save (as designated by the highest numbered extension).  After that you could rename all the file to a base ".1" extension.  This was how we manually version controlled our files (before we wrote truEVault that is!).

Note & Disclaimer: The software hasn't been updated since it was complied in VB6 on Windows XP and I have no clue as to whether or not it will run on Windows Vista or Windows 7 or later.  I've ad a lot of people inquired as to where they could get a copy of it so I've posted it here for download.

The bread a butter of what we did was a file management system for CAD.  This product, as mentioned above, truEVault is now know as Autodesk Vault and is distributed with hundreds of thousands of copies of software each year.  This is a short demonstration video we did that was posted on Autodesk's partner web page before we were acquired.  Enjoy!

In 2000 we were featured in an industry magazine called "PROfiles" which focused on the Pro/E community.  You can read the article here.
